Historical review of the creation of a referral hospital in northern Peru

Resumen

We describe the main events that enabled the construction and equipment of the Lambayeque Regional Hospital, an institution dependent on the Ministry of Health at level III-1, located in the city of Chiclayo in Northern Peru. The creation of this Referral Hospital has allowed for the optimization of health care for the inhabitants of northeastern Peru. The construction process of this hospital should serve as a model to be replicated in our country, where there is a significant gap in hospital infrastructure that needs to be addressed.
