CONOCIMIENTO Y PRÁCTICAS RELACIONADOS CON LA PREVENCIÓN Y DIAGNÓSTICO DEL CÁNCER DE CUELLO UTERINO, EN USUARIAS CON SEGURO INTEGRAL DE SALUD DE CONSULTORIO EXTERNO DEL HOSPITAL SANTA MARÍA DE CUTERVO

KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICES RELATED TO THE PREVENTION AND DIAGNOSIS OF CERVICAL CANCER, IN USERS WITH COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH INSURANCE OF EXTERNAL OFFICE OF THE SANTA MARIA DE CUTERVO HOSPITAL

Resumen

Objetivo. Determinar el nivel de conocimiento y prácticas en prevención y diagnóstico del cáncer de cuello uterino en usuarias de 20 a 59 años de edad que acudieron a consulta externa del Hospital Santa María del distrito de Cutervo del departamento de Cajamarca. Material y Métodos. Estudio Observacional, Transversal; realizado en el Hospital Santa María de Cutervo; se seleccionaron 340 usuarias de 20 a 59 años de edad que acudieron a consulta externa del hospital, mediante un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia, durante el periodo de noviembre del 2015 a marzo del 2016. La información sobre conocimiento y prácticas se obtuvo mediante entrevista personal aplicando una encuesta validada por especialistas. Los datos se analizaron utilizando el Soffware estadístico SPSS, versión 22 para Windows. Resultados. El 75% de las usuarias encuestadas presentaron nivel de conocimiento Insuficiente y un 47,6% presentaron un nivel de práctica Inadecuada, no existiendo usuaria alguna que calificara como Adecuada. Conclusiones. La población del estudio presenta nivel de conocimiento Insuficiente, y prácticas Intermedia sobre el cáncer de cuello uterino.   ABSTRACT Objective. Determine the level of knowledge and practices on cervical cancer prevention and diagnosis in users of 20 to 59 years of age who attended the outpatient clinic of the Santa María Hospital in the Cutervo district of the Department of Cajamarca. Material and Methods. Observational, Cross-sectional Study; performed at the Santa María de Cutervo Hospital; We selected 340 users from 20 to 59 years of age who attended the hospital's outpatient clinic, by a non-probabilistic sampling for convenience, during the period from November 2015 to March 2016. Information about knowledge and practices was obtained by personal interview applying a survey validated by specialists. The data was analyzed using the statistical software SPSS, version 22 for Windows. Results. 75% of the users surveyed presented insufficient knowledge level and 47.6% presented an inadequate level of practice, there is no user that qualifies as Adequate. Conclusions. The study population has insufficient knowledge level, and Intermediate practices on cervical cancer.
