Resumen

Objective: To identify the sociodemographic, clinical and therapeutic characteristics of patients with severe COVID-19 who received home treatment in the outpatient follow-up program of EsSalud Lambayeque-Peru, 2021. Material and methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional and ambispective study. Sample of 183 patients. Results: It was found that 55 % were women, 46 % secondary studies, 41 % came from Chiclayo, average age 69 years, time of illness 14 days, 37 % with confirmatory antigenic test, 39.34 % had 2 to more comorbidities, 89.08 % presented normal respiratory frequency, 28.96 % obtained the oxygen balloon by loan and purchase of balloon, 46.45 % rented it, 74, 86 % required medical personnel, 54.10 % required respiratory rehabilitation, previous minimum saturation less than 92 %, 65.03 % presented more than one symptom. More than 50 % did not require medication. Conclusions: The most frequent characteristics were: female sex, secondary level, origin Chiclayo, average age 69 years, time of illness 14 days, antigenic test, more than two comorbidities, normal respiratory frequency, obtained oxygen balloon by loan or purchase, most rented oxygen equipment, required medical personnel, required respiratory rehabilitation a saturation less than 92 %, more than one symptom, did not need medication, dexamethasone and azithromycin were the most used antibiotics.
